There was an amazing atmosphere at St Andrew's when the Olympic Torch went past; it was great to be apart of it.

Special thanks to Alistair Stichbury for stepping in to play bass for this event, as Adam Tyndall couldn't make it.

Fishers Of Men
Fishers Of Men are a Reading-based worship band, formed in June 2010. Having been inspired by Andy Smith and Vicky Beeching at Spring Harvest 2010, the band was hurriedly put together for the Wessex Synod Fury Camp in July 2010, where they led for the first time. Fortunately, or unfortunately, the band was called in to replace the original band, who pulled out, hence the quick formation! The task that lay ahead appeared daunting, especially for Ben, but proved an all round success, so much so that they were invited back to play at the 2011 camp! Ben was further inspired by trips to Soul Survivor and Hillsong Church London that led to the band setting up a series of Praise Parties at Park URC, which increased the band's popularity and continue to be a success. The band's name is based on a verse of scripture - Matthew 4:19 - which talks about Jesus sending people out to be 'fishers of men.' This seemed an appropriate name for the band, as their aim is to bring people to Jesus through their music - they are "fishing" for people to bring to Jesus. The band have aims to release an album, lead at Spring Harvest or Soul Survivor, write lots of their own songs and to play Jesus Is My Best Friend!!!! The members of the band have interests in football, music, free-running, socialising and food. Two churches - Wesley Methodist and Park URC - are represented within the band and all the boys are good friends and often hang out together.
